KHANEWAL: Four employees of Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) were tortured on Tuesday by at least 20 people involved in pilfering
electricity.
WAPDA’s raiding team including the tortured employees – Muhammad Ashfaq, Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Nav
eed and Hafiz Liaqat–were searching for those involved in
electricity thefts.
The accused – Rana Arshad –
was stealing
electricity for his tube well th
rough direct wire. He, along
with 19 of his accomplices, allegedly attacked the raiding team when they interferedand later tortured them.
Sadar police reached the spot and rescued the battered WAPDA employees as a finger of one of the employee’s was also reportedly broken.
